Lucy Baxter freelance multimedia journalist podcast host editor BBC

After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a First Class Degree in Communication and Media, I completed a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism at Salford University, earning a Gold Standard NCTJ.

I began my career with BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today, later joining Farmers Guardian as a digital journalist and features writer, with bylines also in The Lancet.

I then worked on major TV news programmes including BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One, and now work freelance across international outlets in both print and broadcast.

Lucy Baxter freelance multimedia journalist podcast host From a Lancashire Lass

Currently, I host and produce the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s podcast from my home studio and voice campaigns and digital content for the charity.

I'm also the creator and host of From a Lancashire Lass, a podcast and YouTube documentary series celebrating stories and small businesses across the North West of England.

I’m trained in high-quality broadcast production and skilled in editing audio and video for digital, social, radio and TV platforms.

I'm also an experienced, clear and articulate public speaker, recently giving talks at schools, charity events and on behalf of the BBC.

In addition, I hold a TEFL qualification teaching English as a foreign language to students and am multilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.

I am voiceover trained and love using my voice to communicate clearly, creatively, and with purpose. Whether it’s narrating campaigns, hosting podcasts, or voicing digital content, I’m passionate about bringing stories to life and making an impact through spoken and written word.
